@ Cheese,
When you mentioned Klein's chart back in December, you should've posted the chart here.
Honestly, I'm just too tired to look for it

@karennma,

At the time, and maybe even now, I was not able to post stockcharts
stockcharts automatically defaulted to "please visit stockcharts".

I like Joanne Klein (a real life money manager), David Larew, Marc Slavin, and Cobra Peter Yong Pan..

karennma,
1. In general the timing of "retail"
ma and pa is usually wrong (buy near the top, sell near the bottom.)
2. There is usually some maneuvering among brokers and dealers to drive down prices
in the short run around this time and buy back later cheaper to get bigger Christmas bonuses.
To be rewarded, their performance has to be better than the auto-pilot market runs.

What do you think? Always want to know of your views. Thanks.

I'm around a lot of "ma and pa" types. They did NOT sell last year when the market was cratering (like I did). They're still in and have been for awhile.
IMHO, people (under 60) who have careers, consider themselves long term investors, not "traders". Given what the market has done since January, their patience paid off (on some stocks .. not all.)
Re: "(buy near the top, sell near the bottom.)" - Only @ssholes like me do dumbsh*+ like that.
Because I tend to panic, it's important for me to anticipate when a top is coming. For that reason, I can NOT use lagging indicators.

Yep. That's usually end of year tax selling.

I appreciate your thoughts.
Thanks for sharing!

@karennma,
Nothing new in this post, just a gentle reminder.
In this forum, you are well liked by many people, and especially by people who count.
A couple of the forum titans in the early years gave you their secrets.
You really don't need to chase filters or indicators.
Just print what they gave you in huge fonts on one piece of paper and display it where you can't miss it.
Best wishes

Haha! U got that right. I've got some amazing filters.
However, I had to hunt for them and then tweak them.
GUPPY is among the best.
Everything a newbie needs to know is right here.
You just have to find it!

I've got 34 stocks on my watchlist.

BTW, I'm NOT bragging.
Out of ALL the filters I have, only 2 work 99% of the time.
The trick is, to know which filters work 99% of the time and which ones don't.
JMHO!

karennma, I'm pretty sure that you are doing much better than the majority of this forum
and you are absolutely right about Guppy.
