Some of the best run-ups come from very low volume just before the break.
What I have observed, the stocks volume has almost dried up.
The close is almost always lower, but not always.
The degree of lower close is very marginal.
Basically, the selling has come to an end.
On the volume chart, it looks as if there is absolutely no volume.
This plays out over a 3-4 day period.
Now comes the accumulation period I have talked about.
The stock generally will back and fill for the next week or two.
This allows you to build a decent position.
When the break out happens, it is you who is dishing out the shares to sell.
Thankfully, not the other way around.
For me, volume is the key.

Why did you decide to sell CLSK?

@kossvet
I'm looking forward to seeing that filter. I'm playing around with xarlor's filter to see how to predict a low volume to breakout pattern but I haven't come up with anything yet.

@xarlor
I'm curious. Why those MA's? Did you try different ones and found those worked best?

@JoeyVinyl,

Kossvet jumped forum threads early on so the info you are looking for to explain the moving averages, etc. is in the first few posts in the General Discussion thread "What is the Best Way to Write This Filter", you'll also find the early versions of the Xarlor filter.

This thread was begun investigating a Gap filter but got completely taken over by the current discussion.

Hope this helps,
Ed S.

Check out ISEE.
This stock is setting up too.
Currently I have no position in it.
Might buy 1K at the end of the day

I see Gnpx is filling the gap.
Tro is so correct about that.
All stocks fill the gap.
Gonna buy more in the 2.70's.
On a mission for 20k shares.

Here we go boy's.
ONTX looks like rocket fuel on the chart.
A compressed spring.
I'm buying, and I don't plan on holding.

I haven't done any DD, trading strictly from the chart.
Good Luck
Robert
