irishpitbull i tried your filter again and was looking at the first results with PB between 130 and 150. Seems to me that they are already in a heavy upward move. Can you explain again when is a good time to enter a trade?
For example if you look at SUG, when it first broke out, PB was around 100.

Ipaid,

Sug would be a bad candidate because it is in the middle of buyout.

Ebay is ready

Hi Irishpitbull,

Just read this thread. I will try your filter but was wondering what u look for in short interest. How u determine which ones to pick and which to leave. I see Ebay has 0.6 days to cover the shorts and APOL has 4.7. Which one is better as u have picked both. Pls explain your method in a little more detail.

Thanks

Short % and volume are are two great tools to use. But the they wont keep me out of trade. Take AUY for instance, it had a short % of a little over 1. Still ran 6-8%. You have to look for hot sectors. Like that last month healthcare and biotechs have been running.

Where do you get this information about the Short % (number of days to cover the shorts)? Is this in information in SF?

@irishpitbull
I see from your sample charts that in the end you pick stocks that hit a resistance for several days (horizontal consolidation), correct? This is actually what my filter does. So i give it another try to combine the two filters.

I think that is only weakness of this site, not short %. There are a ton sites that you can get that info from. I use the PPT.

You should check out http://spydercrusher.com/

He calls it a compression break out its a very same looking pattern, but also uses overall market timing to take trades.. only gong long with the market.

Check youtube or chartly for his vids..
