John, I have been following along with your success and picks etc.

Could you take a few minutes and perhaps post a sample chart on how you scalp / daytrade perhaps using IWM on a 5 minute chart as an example.

I, for one, would be very interested.

Thanks!

Dash

Hi Dash:

I wouldn't recommend you counter trade unless you have a ton of experience, it's extremely dangerous and could drain your account in a hurry...see MHO 2 days ago...lost about 10k on a single scalp. How long are you trading?

20 years and sadly I'm still looking for the better approach , so I can stop looking and simply marry it

http://stockcharts.com/h-sc/ui

its very simple... buy long above the 20day on a pull back to the 20day,

short below the 20day, enter short on the bounce to the 20day.

If the 20 day is going up only look to go long... if heading down only look to short.. if flat do something else.

The hardest thing about trading for me is waiting around for the good set up.

If you want to scalp:

As is the case now 20day heading up... better odds to try and scalp long than short. so buy the gap downs and dips at obvious support levels.

I had IWM yesterday and today from 89.65 to 90.23.

GLT...

20 DMA?
You posted a 5-month chart with 50 & 200 DMAs.
I don't use MAs, but for the sake of other people reading the board, it might be useful to post the chart with the 20 MA and specify the time frame so they can SEE what you're talking about.
(assuming you're not using a 5-month chart for day-trading)
Thanks.

Lots of traders use 20 dma. Printine exclusively use this moving average, they look for a WRB(wide range bar) breakout at 20ma for an entry, I use 100ema...same concept.
