2/2/2018 11:05:47 AM Before I start my reminiscing, I'd like SF to add monthly filtering for my 10 year birthday gift! I think it's long overdue! It seemed like just yesterday when I pointed out my 5 year. It's amazing how fast time flies by the older you get. It's been one heck of a learning experience over this past decade! Here's the welcoming email from SF on 2/2/2008. 
I remembered seeing SF on Google search result under Stock Filter and I thought let's try them out as I just started dabbling in stocks. Thought EMA, MACD, RSI, Stochastics was a foreign language. Barely able to read a stock chart to save my life! But I was determined to learn so I did. Everyone was gushing over The Rumpled One so I started reading his threads. Needless to say, his knowledge was at doctorate level while mine was elementary so I had a hard time understanding his reasoning behind his filters. Cut my teeth & dare I say my hard earned money on "Run Forest Run". There have been epic battles of egos in the past 10 years, none more so than TRO vs Wallstgenius. Those of you that signed up after 2010 or so missed the battle of the Titans. From these battles came incredible filters that might not have been divulged so that was a blessing in disguise. Chetron was a master SF filter coder. Could almost take anything and compose beautiful filters with it. Search under "Tachikawa" to see the classics. To this day I still miss him dearly for leaving. He was also one of the nicest people on SF, always PATIENT with your questions and had no qualms in helping you. The first five years had TRO, WallStGenius, Chet, Alf44, Mary4Money, DWiggains, Safetrade, Eman93, Four, Miketranz, JP & Karen just to name a few. The last five years had Kevin, Mahkoh, Graftonian, Mactheriverrat, and Shils. I know I've missed many more and I apologize if your name is not included. I lurked for 9 nine years with very few posts. In fact, I didn't enter my first post on SF until nearly three years after I joined! Even then I tried to start an option thread...lol. 
Everyone has contributed whether it was from only one or 10,000 threads. Here's hoping SF is lucky enough to see a great third generation of coders and see most of you on my 15th anniversary!!! |
