I am trying to write code to obtain the IFT of an indicator (spy, close). check out the snippet below

Fetcher[SET{X, IND(SPY, CLOSE)}
DRAW X

SET{Y, IFT(5,9) OF IND(X, CLOSE)}
DRAW Y

SET{Z, IFT(5,9) OF IND(SPY, CLOSE)}
DRAW Z
]

Variable Y does not seem to be an IFT, and variable Z is a repeat of variable X.

What does Y represent?
can this be accomplished in SF?

Four, thanks for the help.

Fetcher[DRAW IFT(5,9)
set{SPY_IFT, ind(spy,ift(5, 9))}
draw SPY_IFT ON PLOT IFT(5,9)
draw SPY_IFT line at -.50
Draw SPY_IFT X line at .50
/*A MODULE TO COMPARE STOCK TO SPY*/

Mac@ I believe you thoughts on a filter searching for the start of an ema13 trend are valid, but finding one is really tough with the market trending down. The only thing I am in the black on is SPXU; and I noticed SQQQ showed up on my ema13 filter. I am going to add this module to my filter and will post on your ema13 thread.

When market is trending down - try ETF'S IMHO.
