I just found out I got f*d on a trailing stop.
DON'T USE THEM!
They tell you you're protecting your position against volatility, but you're not.
The algos are programmed to hit all stops and get you out.
It's like playing a card game. NEVER show your hand beforehand, or you'll lose.

@karennma

Regarding your experience with STOPS

According to posts In other forums, our brokers see both sides of the trades (buyers and sellers)
including pending trades. The exchanges and market makers can see both sides of the trades from brokerage houses, investment firms, and mutual funds

So at least twice a day brokers' computers scan all their customer accounts, clear the stops and
squeeze the shorts. Market makers do the same thing to brokerage houses and institutional investors.
They see our hands and they make money for themselves, not for their clients.

It's a LIE. You're not protected.
I made $13,6K in 5 days. They stole $2700.
DO NOT USE trailing stops.
It's like inviting a friendly con-man in your house so he can come back and ROB YOU.

I KNEW what happened ... after the fact.
IT WAS OBVIOUS.
I called the broker and he was a bastid about it.
I spent 15 minutes telling him why I was upset and all he said was "how can I help you".
Well, give me MY MONEY you SOB.
Arrogant scum.

I remember JP (johnpaulca) used to lose a lot of money getting stopped out all the time.
So, now that damn stock has to go up $27 for me to get that money back.
I was in the pre-market and couldn't find the position to sell it @ 447 b'cz they'd sold it @ 420
UNBEKNOWST TO ME!
You know why they have to see those limit orders and stops AHEAD OF TIME??????
'Cuz the only way they can make money is by cheating.
They have to SEE YOUR HAND ahead of time, so they'll know how to scru you.

SMH ... So they have to CHEAT to make money.
Do I sit at the card table and SHOW MY HAND BEFORE the game starts?
That's what you're doing with stops.

No, I didn't bookmark the post about brokers sweeping accounts to clear stops and squueze shorts.

Regarding dark pools, block trades, etc some traders like this paid service

A few months ago, this page was live and free. Now people have to pay

@ Cheese,
Re: "A few months ago, this page was live and free. Now people have to pay

============================================

Of course people have to pay. 'Cuz everybody's on the take. F* 'em.
I'm not paying anybody for $#*+, 'cuz nobody's telling anybody anything.
And most of the info I can get for FREE.
JP was here for years, putting stops on his positions. And then when he was stopped out, the post would end with "ouch".
Little did I know, the "ouch" wasn't his bad judgment.
His only mistake was SHOWING HIS HAND to the MMs, so they could stop him out and make him lose his $$.
The sad thing is, very few people are reading this thread, so, they'll just have to learn on their own.
Well, at least -- you and I KNOW ...
;>)
BTW, Market's crashing .. as it should.
Perfect timing.
