been using a filter for many months now with very good success, thought i'd pass it along as i know a lot of folks are having problems with this choppy market, this has worked for me over the past year no matter what the market condition,SHOW STOCKS WHERE CLOSE HAS BEEN DECREASING OVER THE LAST 3 DAYS AND AVERAGE VOLUME(90)IS ABOVE 100,000 AND CLOSE PRICE IS BETWEEN 1 AND 10 AND PRICE TOUCHED LOWER BOLLINGER BAND(20), use your date offsets and you will notice that the win% really starts to pick after about 9 days, look at march 12 to get an idea of what this filter is capable of. If anyone is interested after checking the filter out,i can give out more details on the best ways to use it, have fun, MUDDY

Hi wallman,
As you said, the results look great.
Could you post details about the way you use the filter?
Thanks

the way that i use this filter is i keep adjusting the volume either up or down to give me 10 stocks to chart for that day,(140,000 for fri 3-28)i look for either increased volume on that day from the previous day or above average volume on at least 2 of down days that we are looking at and a longer shadow on the bottom of the last candle body than on the top,of the stocks from those 10 that remain i watch to see if any open to the upside at 9:30,if one is that's the play,if more than one are up i've found it best to go with the lowest priced ones first, today 2 stocks of the 10 had increasing volume and long tails,FTS and MED,FTS was down at the open but MED was up about .05 so that would be a play,if none open higher i will wait until about 10:30,if none than no play for that day.

a follow-up on the above bollinger band method, was wondering if anyone out there has tried this out papertrading or realtime and if you have, have you had any success and/or have you run into any problems?,just ran a backtest of the last 30 trading days and results of the filter as it stands without adjusting volume or entering as described above was 75.4% wins, last 10 days 71%,amazingly there were only 3 days out of 30 where there were more losing stocks then gainers

Your filter is excellent!!! Since I'm not able to watch or trade during the times you recommend I had to adjust the criteria so I could place my trades before the market opens. The results are amazing also. Instead of price limits between 1 and 10 as you've suggested I've set the price limits between 5 and 10 with Average Volume(90) Above 100000 and buy the stock with the highest volume on the screen. Over the past 30 days this screen has had a 90% success record.
