Graf, What is your trigger for the ema8/ema21 cross filter? Thank you. Ron

Sorry. Hit post twice by mistake.

I 100% agree with Ron22, Mac has provided years worth of value and has availed countless members on this website. I'd love to see both a 'Best of Mac' and 'Best of Kevin' as Ron mentioned.

Ron, The name says it all, ema8 crossing above the ema21; plus the caveat that ma200 is positive (The trend is your friend). That said, it is not all objective, a little eyeballing goes a long way, ie: news, volume, etc.

@Graftonian, what does 242 candidates mean in your notation?

Graf, Do you exit when ema8 crosses below ema21?

PA247 Just a note to my self, the available underlyings before filtering.
Ron, I am only experimenting here, and have not firmed up anything. An 8/21 cross back, Darryl Guppys CBL (count back line), or a short-term Hull MA would work.
Incidentaly, the 8/21 period ma's on the 5 minute chart seem to work well to signal entry and for scalping.
Today I BTO an ATM calendar for .33. During a day full of honey- dos, it hit the 50 % profit mark twice, and I'm still holding it for a zero gain. Duh. Oh well $15 is only 10 bottles of Stag at the local saloon.
No candidates today, maybe i can turn the filter over and find a Short.

Thanks Graf. A short look shows that sometimes 8/21 cross back can give back a lot of profits. I will look at Guppy GBL and S/T Hull MA. Thanks again for your posts and ideas.

Clarification: I mean a brief look not a short look.

i think the trigger of ema 8/21 is to have a candle closed above previous day high , that works on reversal and trend continuation.
