Corsino,
"I should add that most of the stocks returned by the 11-day down filter have RSI(2) values considerably below 1. So it's probable that a filter with the requirement of RSI(2)well below 1 would have similar results as the 11-down day filter".

Ok,i believe that.

One thing you might try if you wish is backtest a filter to show fast%k<.01 to find very oversold stocks if that's what you are looking for.

Just add RSI(2)column but don't add it in the filter.
Also add column Williams%R(10).
This should give you all the fast%k 0's and williams -100.
You can see from the RSI(2) column if the stock is below 1 but I wouldn't automatically throw out those with over 1,hence only the RSI(2) column and not adding it into the filter.

There is actually someone who has a $39.95 pay for pick website that employs the fast%k 0's combined with Williams -100's almost exclusively,no doubt taken from Janeiro and myself. So I guess someone else thinks it works.
I've never formally backtested so I'm not sure.

Corsino,
Hmmmm,it's hard to believe so many stocks down 11 days in a row would not have an RSI(2)<1.
Please don't get me wrong,I believe you, but did you check the charts on them to see if the filter is actually giving you correct matches?

Regards,Muddy

Hey Muddy:

You know RSI(2) < 1 works.

TRO,YOU KNOW I KNOW.
Ironically there was a post yesterday concerning detective work on an online video stock.
This same post had been discussed in Nov.
At that time I had found the stock in question was GOFH.
Now checkout what I said about it at the time:

LOOKS LIKE ITS GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOFISH
AWESOME CHART,OPENED AT $3,HIT 4.75 DAY LATER,TRADED AT 4 ON 11/20 .....
NOW LOOKS LIKE THE FISH IS IN THE TANK
GET OUT THOSE RODS AND REELS GUYS,YOU CAN HAVE THE FISH FOR ONLY $2.50 !

GOFH

From that $2.50 it opened GREEN the next day at 2.56 and in the next 4 days it ran to a high of 4.54 with a 3 day stairstep volume increase ending with almost a million shares traded on this previously thinly traded stock.A 78% 4 day run.
And you know why i was pretty certain it was "in the tank" and near a bottom ( DEAD bottom in this case).
Look at the RSI(2)on 11/28
0.529

So yes TRO, I do know it works.
Thanks again to you and HG.

And regarding paying for filters, new folks here please listen up.
IMO,You won't find better pay stuff anywhere then you get here for FREE from the likes of TRO,HG,RIGGS and others.

"That's strange...adding RSI(2)<1 doesn't change the W/L ratio of 70/28. Or the number of stocks. But maybe it might for other 4-month periods."

Strange?
Think about it,how many stocks down that many days in a row do you think won't be RSI(2)<1

"Now, my question to you is, how did you find HAWK?"

RSI(2)below 1

Avery,didn't you notice that? :)

One of the best purest simple filters out there.

Yes,wait for a green hold.

The matches I trade from this filter that match up with my "favorites list" stocks I usually jump right in at the first sign of green, others I'll wait for a longer confirmation of green.
