Thanks for the great feedback.

Concerning the column headers not changing, that appears to be a bug and we are looking to fix that.

As far as videos without sound -- yes, at this point all of the videos do not have sound. The main reason is that most of these are shot prior to a "final" release and are intended to overview the new features.

When we start putting out real "tutorial" or "instructional" videos, we will definitely add some commentary to those.

Thanks for the feedback. A couple notes/updates on the items above:

The % Changed Since Added did not have any of the percentages in the column...

This should be fixed now. Please let us know if you continue to run into this issue.

Would be great if the Watchlist column could be either fully collapsible or be able to shrink the width of the column ...

Excellent idea. We assume you mean a display (similiar to the view edit page) where the columns stretch horizontally across the width of the page?

Chart Displays Bugs...

We have made a change that should better preserve your default settings. If you still run into issue please feel free to email us a specific list, view and what is amok with the charts -- that will help us troubleshoot the issue further.

Thanks for the questions!

1. In creating an event, it looks at though you can write specific filter language - can this use user-defined variables and set statements?

Yes, you can use all of the regular StockFetcher syntax.

2. Can you create a custom column, or is it limited to a set of drop-down choices?

Custom columns definitely. You can customize the parameters of existing measures, or start from scratch and add your own.

3. Trade tracking looks useful - can you keep a record of closed trades to see how well a specific filter or system performed? Can these be shared?

We are still looking into the level of portfolio tracking that will be supported. So right now, we are not 100% sure of what level of tracking functionality will be available, but if there is demand for it, now is the perfect time to give that more consideration.

4. PDF output is a nice touch. Thanks.

Once we have stabilized output format of the tool, we'll start rolling examples of the PDF report format.

General Discussion · actual rsi(2) equation

The RSI is a cumulative measure where the current value is based on all previous values. On StockFetcher, a measure such as this is "seeded" with at least 2 years of historical values to compute the most recent value. In other words, an RSI(2) is not just based on the last 2 periods (as a simple moving average would be.)

As you noted, Wilder's RSI formula is:

RSI = 100 - (100 / (1 + (AG/AL)))

However, note that the 'AG' and 'AL' components are not derived from simple moving averages, but each are computed using Wilder's smoothing method:

X(i) = [X(i-1)(n-1) + Y(i)] / n

Where X(i) is your current average, and Y is your input data series. The above is very similar to an EMA, and as you can see requires all previous values to compute the current value.

We will certainly look into adding Renko charts.

Filter Exchange · THEE ABSOLUTE ((( BOTTOM ))) FILTER!
msg #65712
8/1/2008 11:13:53 AM

A weekly measure only has a single data point per week. A good analogy would be using daily data and specifying "intraday" periods such as "close 1 hour ago". While there certainly was a price 1 hour ago -- it is not a "daily" value.

So, using "days ago" does not have any effect. And, in fact, is converted to "weeks ago". Below is a corrected filter:

Fetcher[Weekly Williams %R(2) is above Weekly Williams %R(2) 1 week ago and
Weekly Williams %R(2) 1 week ago is below Weekly williams %R(2) 2 weeks ago
and chart-display is weekly

Hope that helps,

StockFetcher 2.0 Beta · How to save 2.0 chart settings?
msg #65099
7/17/2008 7:09:58 AM

At this time, If you want different chart settings we recommend keeping all of the applicable "draw" commands in your filter text. That way you can have the different chart parameters you indicated by simply loading a saved filter. However, some options (such as changing the MACD Histogram bar to a line) can not be specified in the filter text.

Also, the "Settings" link on the main StockFetcher page can be used to control add default measures to your charts.

If possible, can you provide more details concerning what "theme" settings you are unable to save?

Thank you,
