I have been working on this and its similar to an Iron condor but only 2 legs.

1st off the bat, you cant use this that for expiration months less than 3 to 4 months out ( the prices you will get are just too low)

ABC Company Inc trading at $ 40.03 in Dec

Sell $ 35.00 Put
Sell $ 45.00 Call

This gives you a huge spread and if you can pick a stock to doesn't move much it money in the bank. Not a lot but seems safe.

Does anyone know what this is called? I know its some kind of spread.

Also everyone is writing filters for stocks to move upor down, Anyone have a filter to pick stocks that don't move?

Any comment good or bad about this strategy appreciated.

Hello eveyone,

I was hoping someone knows about the strategy Jim Cramer discusses in his new book. He basically proposes
buying DITM calls and selling the underlying stock short. He said this combination with the DITM call as a hedge is a winning play.

He doesnt do a good job explaining the details. I was hoping someone here could tell me more about the strategy and the ratios of shorts to calls etc.

Thanks Stockfetchers for any feed back,

What are your thoughts on using call long call options on the bullish picks instead of buying the stock? . Wouldn't the option allow you to leverage your $ ? Any thoughts?

I think I read you are using 401k money so that would make sense but I would be interested in how you think this system would apply to option plays.

Thanks for the advise Kevin as usual. Been paper trading for a while and doing pretty good not using filters, just tech analysis by hand. Made a killing on SIRI, bought large position at .37, money allocated is risk capital mostly form that one trade (I am playing with the houses money so to speak). I admit I am a gambler by nature but cautious. I was looking at my self as more "short term trader" than day trader. My new plan is to stick with IBD 100 stocks, Just hoping someone had something better or idea better than I am using, I am new to trading and especially filters. Thanks Kevin

SITUATION: 1) Have 15k ready to risk. (don't have the 25k to qualify as PDTe) Have it, just not in my account.

2) Access to trading platform limited (available for market open & sporadic during the day say , 5 short visits)

3) can make trades frequently on i phone.

What filter or type of filter would y'all suggest, have several ready to go, just thought I poll based on my situation. I was thing something lile TRO's slowcooker set on Sunday night.

Any thoughts, criticism, suggestions or filters welcome. Have a good Sunday Stockfetchers.
