Awesome find, guru trader. The info on that site passed my BS detector 100%.
Reading their FAQ's is an education in itself.

Here's a little Moose nugget that fellow Fetchers will appreciate, "accuracy and profitability are not the same thing...By focusing on being really right, when it is right, and only slightly wrong, when it is wrong, the framework tries to maximize return while reducing risk"
Bottom line, we don't need to rack our brains for filters that return 85% wins in order to make money from the slotmarket.

Thanks for sharing.

TrendSurfer,
I'm too tired right now to give you a proper reply, will do so tomorrow.

The strongest RS stocks group were hit today. Roughly 80% down.
The weakest RS group had more winners than the than the strongest group.

Let's see how the top 20 strongest stocks from TrendSurfer's scan did today.
Scan is from after last Friday's close to see how they performed today.
PDO, FPP, ROYL, JRCC, PCX, KOSN, ENER, BEXP, CLR, MEE, OSTK, NOG, ANR, SQM, SQNM, GTE, GDP, UTSI, CSIQ, GMXR.
16 went up and 4 went down. 6 of the advancing stocks went up over 5%.

The 20 weakest stocks were PFB, LNG, DSL, TGIC, CRBC, TIXC, IMB, STSA, GRZ, TSFG, NX, UCBH, RDN, BKUNA, UAUA, ABK, FED, ATSK, AAI, LCC.
18 fell, 1 up and 1 even. 14 of the declining stocks fell over 5%.

On a day in which the market was essentially flat, the strongest RS group produce 80% winners and the weakest RS group produced 90% losers.

Last week the SP500 fell 42 points. I ran the scan with a date offset of 6 and the top 20 strongest stocks produced 16 winners and 4 losers with 8 of the winners up over 20% for the week. The weakest 20 all fell for the week with 9 dropping over 10%.

It would be interesting to see how they perform on a day the market has a big move up or down. With this little amount of evidence so far, I see a lot of merit with this methodology.

Thank you miketranz for starting this thread and thank you TrendSurfer for sharing the filter.

Niko,
The last filter returned 495 results with companies not in the telecom sector.
I don't know how to fix it or I would. It'll only take you a few seconds.
I'd love to see the filter in action.

13th,
I first heard Fairport on the radio back when I was in high school and with Sandy Denny singing, man I was hooked, line and sinker. To this day, she is still one of my fav singers. Those old English folk songs told fascinating stories too.

Speaking of Pentangle, a couple of years ago, I saw John Renbourn with Jacqui McShee play at a very small club in Redwood City. They must be pushing 70.
As you probably know, Renbourn is quite an acoustic quitarist. It was a most memorable show, to be practically front row was just great.

13th,
Are you familiar with Richard Thompson's initial works. If you're truly a RT fan then you better know what band I'm talking about. I'm a huge fan of FC but I'll have to confess, I didn't follow RT's solo stuff. Now that you've pointed RT out, I'm going to have to catch up on the rest of his work.

To make a filter, there's no need to start from scratch and reinvent the wheel. There's already plenty of great filters available to you posted by their creators.
Try modifying one to your liking for starters.

If you want to use a filter to make money, you don't even need to create your own filter to do that. I've never created a filter all my own. I just put my own tweaks on other's filters and Ka-ching. As The Wise One always likes to say "It's not what you trade, it's how you trade it". Hint, hint, learn how to trade first and foremost.

red to green means yesterday was a red bar and when it trades above yesterday's close is the point it turns green, which indicates the change in direction from down to up
