Joe, since you posted this last Oct., I wonder if it is still working as well for you, or if you are still trading it?

Is there a way to backtest a filter for a particular period of time? I know that the number of days can be changed, but how would I backtest a filter for 1/1/04 to 3/31/04, for example?

Some filters work better when the general market is going up, so it would be handy to be able to backtest a filter, like Muddy's, during a time when the SP500 or the Vectorvest Composite was trending up, as compared with the last 68 days.

C,

Please look at 3 and 6 month charts of MSSN and GDLS. This is the type of chart I am looking for, before the breakout. Narrow BB for 2 or 3 months to watch for close above UBB on higher volume.

What filter would find these?

Thanks,

Dick

C,

I would use the buy if green for 15 minutes after open signal, like the Muddies, or the Slow Stoch (5,3) crossover, and keep tight 3% sell stops. Some stocks bounce when they hit the UBB and some just keep rising until they hit the upper LRI. Could use the Slow Stoch (5,3) for exit signal also.

Thanks for your work.

Is there a filter that finds Bollinger Band Squeeze Breakouts? e.g. Stocks that have been traveling horizontal in a very narrow Bollinger Band for maybe a month and then break above the upper Bollinger Band(20). Looking for stocks that are above UBB first time today, after the month consolidation.

I have been trying to find your Koliga site, but nothing opens. Have they shut down?

How would you build a filter that would find OTCBB stocks that went up 20% in the last 15 minutes of the day on increasing volume, and price and volume were still increasing at the close?

Possibly these stocks would gap up the next morning as there would probably be unfilled orders at the close, and OTCBB stocks cannot trade after hours.

I have tried "stocks that were increasing 20% last 1/4 hour" however some of the stocks that it found were declining at the close, so this isn't finding the stocks I am looking for.

Any help?

Mika,

Your MA(4) exit seems to whipsaw you in and out too often. You must use something else to determine when to sell.

Well, it must have worked. Messages will not be accepted by Feedback now, so they must have gotten lots of them.

Lets stick to trading help, cut out insults, criticisms, fault finding, ridicule and other time wasters. Isn't there some way to block posters who continually post off topic or personal assault messages?

Zube,

Your offer to assist anyone in the understanding and application of TA is very generous. How would one contact you or access your information? You can email me directly if you wish at rrochon13@comcast.net.

Thanks,

Dick
