Why, when I use this filter,"close above lower Bollinger Band(20) and closed below lower Bollinger Band(20) 3 days ago and closed below lower Bollinger Band(20) 2 days ago and closed below lower Bollinger Band(20) 1 day ago and close between .5 and 5 and average volume(90) above 100000 and volume above average volume (90)and 60 day slope of close above 0", does it give me stocks that were not below the LBB for the previous 3 days?

Or how would I write it to show a breakout above the LBB after being below it for the previous 3 days?

I am sorry. I have not been to the Forums for awhile, so I may be a little behind. Since I joined StockFetcher a couple years ago there have been so many improvements and new features that I may have missed it. Many months ago there was some discussion of Beta and the fact that it was not available on SF filters. I believe the reply from SF was that it was under consideration for inclusion in the future.

So, my question is, has Beta been added, so that we can find stocks that have a volatility greater than the SPX?

I think we can all agree that it would be a big advantage for short term traders to be able to rank stocks by volatility. The only thing that I can think of that is worse than a stock that goes the wrong way after we buy it is one that just sits there, wasting time and money that we could be putting to work.

Backtesting Support · Entry Indicator

My filter finds stocks with RSI(2) below .5. I want to buy if the RSI(2) is above 1 at the open. How do I set this? All I can do is "Add variable RSI(15)". Even if I set any of the other incidators there is no way to set it so the program will buy if the Parabolic SAR switches to buy, etc. All I can do is set, "Add variable Parabolic SAR". What does that mean?

(I set it to buy just the single highest volume stock, with 10% trailing stop, and entry indicator Parabolic SAR, or any other)
When I check the results of the backtests from 5/5/05 to 8/18/05, for example, it shows that a stock has been bought every day. The highest volume stock would not meet the entry indicator every day. Many days these stocks do not go green.

Obviously, I do not understand how to do this. I hope someone can help.

Oops, I did find the DPO in the indicators. Now my question is why it finds 247 stocks 11 days ago, but no stocks 10 days ago, or less? Why cannot I find stocks with DPO(20) crossovers yesterday? Incredible Charts shows the DPO as of the close last night. Why doesn't our SF screener?

Is it possible to get the DPO indicator in our SF settings? How much trouble would it be to add it? Confirming the DPO crossover with MACD and MA(30) often gives a very strong indicator of a continuing trend.

Thanks xplorer, but that does not change anything. SF still brings up the same OTC stocks regardless of whether I use OTC or OTCBB. If I put either filter in it does reduce the number of them, but some still get through. Try it. Must be a glitch in the program that SF should correct.

Mary,

Approx how long did you need to hold these stocks to realize these results? And did you enter the next open, or did you just watch them until they went green? And, if so, how long did it take for them to go green?

Thanks,

Dick

Why does SF still bring up OTC stocks when I use the filter: "and market is not OTC"? SF does not indicate what they are when the list comes up, but when I open them in Prophet Net they say OTC or OTCBB.

I hope someone can solve this. I don't like to trade OTC stocks, because my brokerages will not allow sell stop orders on them, so I need to watch them continually to protect my positions.

I have used, "and exchange is not OTC", and also, "and market is not OTC", in my filters, and I still get stocks that trade over the counter. How can I eliminate these stocks?

My brokerages will not let me put sell stop orders on OTC stocks, so I have to watch them constantly.

Is there any place to get the IBD 100 list without subscribing to some service?
I've Googled it and came up with no list.
