This is for oldsmar52;

Back in 1/14/2005 you wrote about a filter that "works best for me.
1. I only play triple matches that have an RS(2) below .3......."

Pls explain "triple matches".
Thnx, Sid

Thnx, luc1grunt, I got the filter.
But, I'm not a day trader, so I wouldn't know when a green light showed up.
Help me w/ the entry; what should the RSI(2) be doing & what should the z graph be doing, to make me enter the position?
Thnx, Sid

Being a novice, I don't understand some thgs about filters I see in the 'discussion' & 'filter exchange' msgs.
1.In the above-mentioned filter, what is "z" graph & how is it used in entering a trade?
2. what is the signal to enter a long trade w/ this filter? I'm a swing trader, w/ little 'swinging'.
3. What are LBB failures? Such as the "2-day fail candidates"? I don't understand why you need failures.
4. Is the RSI(2) supposed to be at a certain point before entering a trade?
Appreciate your answers.
Thnx for all the energy that goes into these threads.
Sid

I'm relatively new to SF. So what stocks DO get put to the top of the list?
And what needs to happen for you to enter a trade based on your filter?
Thnx, Sid

Thnx, I'll gladly take you up on your generous offer.

These are 2 new filters that generate a lot of green arrows on the 'historical' charts. No personal results yet; I've been in cash until there is a mkt turnaround.

fetcher[
draw Bollinger Band(20)
and draw MFI(10) between 50 and 80
and draw Bollinger %B between 0.5 and 0.8
and average volume(50) is above 100,000
and close is between 5 and 25
and draw ma(20)
and close is above ma(40)

HOW DO I SET THE FILTERS SO IT TURNS BLUE? WHERE DO I FIND THE MAGNIFYING GLASS?
I'LL RE-SEND THE FILTERS, SO YOU DON'T HAVE TO TYPE THEM.

fetcher[
Show stocks where FI(13) has been increasing for 3 days and ema(13) has been decreasing for 3 days
and drsw ema(13)
and and price touches ema(13) 1 day ago
and price is between 5 and 25
and average volume(50) is above 100,000
and draw Bollinger Band(20)

Thnx, Sid

Appreciate your response. I have not started writing a filter for this, at least, as yet.
What I will play with from Bollinger's bk is:
BB(20)
BandWidth lowest in 6 mos.
MFI or Accum/Distr
MA(20)
MACD

and

BB(20)
MFI(10) >80
%b >0.8

I'm rather new at this filter business.

In 'Bollinger on Boll. Bands', he talks about the W pattern. Would appreciate a jump-start on writing a filter for this. Something about closing price 2 days ago above the second low of the W pattern, etc. I would also use BandWidth lowest in 6 months.
The Forum search wasn't helpful.
Appreciate your help.

I'm relatively new to swing trading/day trading & would appreciate an opportunity to visit someone's trading set-up in the Seattle area. I'd watch for an hour or so in order to get a sense of the trading techniques & platforms used.
Thnx, Sid
