I follow "stalk" OPTT on a daily basis.Great spiker,you just have to catch it right,get in early.I caught DRYS in late October for a big move up.It's all about timing.Best,Miketranz...

Basically by definition,when a stock moves upward,from a well defined range or base,ideally on high volume,it is said to break out.It could be a new 52 week,or not.It could also possibly gap up or not.Any time a breakout stock reverses and trades back into the trading range,it is said to be a head fake.Most of the times these head fakes occur within the first few days of the initial breakout.It's called being caught on the wrong side of the trade.A continuation move is just the opposite.They can run a number of days.To catch either one of these possible moves,all you have to do is follow the specific stocks on a daily basis that are breaking out to new highs,watch them every day,then execute your position.Hope that helps.Miketranz..

I got it.What I'm really trying to do is find stocks with 0 tail at the open low and not trade under the low,that also have a tendency to go up the longest range day possible.Thanks David...

That's exactly what I'm looking for.How about deciphering this factor.This may get tricky.Show stocks that open,go up and do not trade under the open print for that day.Gap opens included.Thanks for your help...

Fetcher[Close is above MA(50)
MA(50) is above MA(150)
MA(150) is above MA(200)
MA(200) is increasing for 1 month
Close divided by 260 day low is above 1.3
Close divided by 260 day high is above 0.75
Relative strength(^SPX,90) is above 1.0
]

Start here.Pick one that looks like its going up on a 45 degree angle.Jump in on either a pullback/resumption of trend or breakout to new highs.If you want to outperform the market,these stocks will get you there.It's the only set up I trade.Ck out these two stocks.XYL and RADA pulling back for possible trades.Best,Miketranz....
