NTRI is the symbol for nutrisystem. The weight loss company. Their stock had a huge move last year.

HANS would be another and more preferable to find :)

Are you referring to Qcharts with MetaStock and not MetaStock alone?

Markcrisp is right. There is no way 10 out of 10 times you will be able to find the next NRTI and HOLD IT TILL FRUITION based on the filters here. They hold no fundamentals in their scanning and you can only have confidence in holding a stock that long if the fundamentals are good.

Yeh you might get lucky and ride one of these stocks based on a filter and the fundamentals improve and then all of sudden you change from a technical based trader to a fundamental trader and then decide to ride this stock as opposed to selling all your RSI < 1 stocks after making 3 bucks.

BS. It won't happen. Those odds I'll bet against everytime. Its difficult to have a split trading perspective to begin with, but again these filters contain no fundamental information. There are many many times where technicals and fundamentals meet.

You can maybe find the next NTRI in a filter scan and say hey I saw that, but you will most likely never capture the gains from its rise.

Please post the exact filter you are using as214 I would like to study it personally and trade the results to see if this is legit or not. I'm leaning to no, but I love being proved wrong.

Agree completely with article and alf. Trusting patterns on what you have studied and found to work is something though that comes with alot of experience. I mean everyone looks for the next indicator, but its only after you have gone through everything within your capacity do you realize this. Not only that, but once you have achieved this level 1 of stock trading "grasshopperism" you then continue to look for the next indicator, but compare it to what has worked for you already.

Most of my stuff is market orders because I want to own the stock when I want it.

Limit orders on high volume stocks trading over $50 shouldn't have very large spreads. Have you experiemented between the two on the stocks you trade and found the spreads to be so large they actually make a difference?

Alot of people playing the ultra scalper trades ala TRO probably use limit orders, but I look for 4+ dollar moves in stocks and my entry within .50 is typically not something I squabble over very much.
