I've been making serious $$$ daytrading ICE, BIDU, and a few others with one indicator, DMA(3,3). Note that the MA is displaced forward, not backward. 2-minute candle chart. Buy/sell at the first close above or below, and HANG ON for dear life until the next close crosses in the opposite direction.

These stocks usually have huge (and very quick) moves at the open for about an hour. I say usually. DMA(3,3) can get you on the right side of it without too many whips. I say without too many.

DO NOT try this with your grocery money.

Pretty reckless, huh? I'm getting a feel for it.

Yes, I meant 2dayhold, which has since become 1dayhold. Their record is impressive, and I can vouch for it, for what that's worth. We've had some fun trying to reverse engineer their picks.

Sorry for the sarcasm. I can't help myself sometimes.

Please refer to the previous post "my holygrail." Hence the name "holygrail revisited."

By "this site," I mean "that site."
By "they capitalize," I mean "they take advantage of," or "they profit from," or "they exploit." I am referring to the proprietors of "that site."
By "these guys," I mean "those guys."

Is that OK, counselor? I'm not under oath, am I?

This site is up and running again, and it's working pretty well. I believe they capitalize on daily volatility, finding stocks that are trending up, have a large range, getting in at the open, and using a profit stop.

I don't know much about volatility, but has anyone ever tried combining a volatility indicator (Chaikin's, day range, ATR, etc.) with their favorite oscillator or with candle patterns and tried to scalp like these guys seem to be doing?

I noticed there is something to the RSI(2),RSI(5) scenario SAFe describes. LMIA had a very deep V, with RSI(5) staying above 50, so it was due for a pop, plus it had a bullish engulfing candle yesterday breaking out of resistance. I just waited to see what it would do, then went for it. It's not what you trade, but how you trade it. I think I read that somewhere. Good luck!

This is working for me. LMIA today.

rsi(2) > rsi(2) 1 day ago
rsi(2) 1 day ago < rsi(2) 2 days ago
rsi(2) > rsi(2) 2 days ago
rsi(2) 1 day ago < 50
rsi(2) 2 days ago > 75
close between 10 and 30
volume > 100000
draw rsi(5) on plot rsi(2)
not otcbb

Something about the big dip in RSI(2) coming back to meet RSI(5) above 50.

OK, I fell for it. I actually tried it:

Show stocks where Williams %R (14) is below -98.00
and price is near the bottom linear regression line(45)
and close is 5% below dma(28,-14)
and close is between 10 and 80
and average volume(90) is above 100000
draw dma(28,-14)

Not pretty.

Went bearish this week. Pulled out TRO's "Kiss of Death" filter, and a few others. Doing good so far.

I majored in Economics a long time ago. I can still see my professor going around the room screaming "Pareto Optimality, Pareto Optimality!" Our whole exam was on pareto optimality. Thank you TRO for taking me back. Please kill me now.
