Filter Exchange · 2 standard deviation pull back on prior 10 bars
msg #146924

I want to figure a good way to program my stop loss and trailing stops based on prior price activity.
I am thinking I can look at prior 10 day bars. A Way to calculate what the 2 Standard Deviation typical pull back is for a stock. Lets assume I want to do a Buy trade. EMA 9 is above EMA 50 so I am only lookign for buys. So I want to calculate the 2ST pull back for the past 10 trading days. and I can use this value as my Trailing stop. Thoughts? or 1.5 SD etc.. Could make this a variable, and than input it into an indicator to find the best results for a given stock.

General Discussion · Anyone wish to work together to build Winning Filters/strategies?

Looking for like minded traders that would like to work together, maybe use Facebook or other social media to build winning filters, strategies and EA's. I spend hundreds of hours on this stuff but I feel like I can learn more by working/collaborating with others.

I have great Strategy and EA programmers I work with. Not looking for help on the costs of this programming, just new ideas/new thinking

I would love to scan all the currencies for multiple timeframes... It would be magic!
I can't understand why Stockfetcher doesn't do it. There is a much larger population out there for forex.

I have some good, relatively simply filters in Stock fetcher.
I want to convert them to Trade-Ideas software so I can use that software.
It has more power to filter for 1M, 5M, 15M Charts.

Willing to pay a guy if you know how to do this for me.

I simply want to view what % of time a gapper pulls back.

General Discussion · How to find the Most Trending/Momentum Stocks over the last 60D
msg #147988

Which measurement is the best way to measure for trending stocks over the last 45 days?
Highest Ranging Stocks.

I believe most strategies work If you are trading a high ranging/trending stock.
So what is the best approach to finding these stocks? I would remove any stocks that are big big gappers. I personally don't like trading gappers, especially since they are usually dropping and the are not shortable.

Its not Avg Range?
I don't think its "Momentum" or is it?

General Discussion · How to order "My Filter List"
msg #147926
5/26/2019 3:27:44 AM

I organize "My Filter" screen by moving things around etc... then click "SAVE"..but it never works.
What am I doing wrong?

I also go in, and rename each filter so that I add a 01; 02; 03 front trying to sort by ascending to force things into order and that doesn't work either. Suggestions?

General Discussion · How to test see results 5 days ago so I can see the trend

I want to see what happens when Stocks Gap up 5% or 10% in 1 day.
On average, do they pull back within the next few days? or sustain their gains?
I can't seem to get the filter right.

5 days ago, close was 5% above open;

Any ideas? I want to view for myself what % of stocks sustain the larger gains vs. give back some of the gains.
