It's great that you are having success with your filter. Actually, I suspect that your success is not due so much to the filter as to what you refer to as "timing your entries." The filter itself is a bullish filter and probably will work well under bullish conditions, but backtests rather mediocre for the last few months, so be careful. The market has a nasty habit of cutting the props right under you when you least expect it.

Most filtering is for technical indicators but you can include a few fundamental criteria in the filters such as PE and EPS.

Just about all the indexes have broken down thru their Ma (50)'s in a free-fall.Maybe heading down to their Ma(200)'s. It would look worse, except a few high-priced stocks are still going up, but that's not healthy for the market. Tomorrow's action may be critical.

Do your filters backtest terrific for the last two years but your stocks haven't been doing too well this month?
Backtest your filters just for this July, and you might find out why. I backtested 8 filters and the best one was only 50/50 for July so far.

Don't know where you saw it, but could it be a warrant?

Many years ago I read an article about a stock's fundamentals and whether they can be used to judge its future performance. While many people use PE's, the writer preferred the stock's Price/Cash Flow. His rationale was that if a stock has good cash flow, the price will eventually go up.Will that thinking prove correct in the case of three of the presently popular high-flyers?
We'll see....

CROX......Price-to-Cash Flow : 74.5
RIMM.........................: 34.2
AAPL.........................: 5.4

M4M
Just so we can "root" for you on Zacks $100K contest, can you give us your username in that contest? I notice that Shoelessjoe is listed #1 with over $214K.

M4M
Do you do any real trading, or is it all paper trading in contests? If I had one-tenth your advertised skill, I wouldn't waste my time and energy paper trading. If you also trade with real money, with your astronomical win percentage, you should be a $illionaire by now. But regardless, I do think some of your posts are interesting.

Actually, I don't think that M4M withholds information on purpose. It may be that, although he's probably a very smart person,he's very disorganized and not a very good communicator.Somehow I keep thinking of McGee's closet. Some of you oldtimers may know what I'm talking about. Personally, I try to read his posts, but most of them are beyond my deciphering ability.
