The idea of cooperating in improving a filter is great. However, I think that the rationale behind the filter should be stated.

Also, for some time now, I've been lurking and backtesting (using the 3 months ago feature) a lot of the filters appearing on this website. While most work and some are better than others in an up-market, none work very well in a down market lasting several days.

There should be a way of programming a filter that combines the condition of, say the nasdaq composite, with the stock screens.

Actually, by doing the backtest, you can also see the performance at various time periods after that, and compare it with the DJI performance.

Adding the Sector column to the screen results helps quite a bit, since not all sectors move in sync. For some sectors, I can go to another website, like ASK Research, and look at the status of some indexes. Unfortunately, only a few of the indexes, like the oil, gold, semiconductor, and biotech , are included there. It is entirely possible that although the general market may be in a downtrend, a specific sector may be doing well, and its stocks could be traded profitably.

Another advantage of including the sector description is that if, for example, I run a scan for stocks whose smoothed rsi crossed above 30 and five out of seven stocks are healthcare, then that sector is probably tradeable.

Well, I'm looking for a charting site that equals ASKResearch in simplicity. For years I've been using ASKResearch because of its clean, simple, format that allows easy insertion of desired parameters for the common indicators. But alas!for about two weeks now, every stock symbol I entered results in a "NO DATA AVAILABLE" or something like that.

The AD line still does not display as a cumulative line, only as
daily quantities. Does it work ok for you?
I may have to substitute the Momentum, OBV, or MFI indicators in the filters, all of which are already provided in SF. I can't understand why SF didn't include the accumulation/distribution indicator in their array of indicators.

In the past you have criticized posters for using versions of the RSI(2) filter and loosely referring to it as "their" filter.
Now I notice that you are taking credit , on BNG,for the RSIWRL filter for MP'system by writing "I wrote the filter" . I realize that you crave attention, but don't you think you are taking a little too much credit ?
The real truth is that MP concocted the system on , I wrote a simple filter to scan for stocks, and as you are prone to do, added a display to the filter. THAT IS NOT WRITING THE FILTER.

Several days ago I agreed, in private e-mails, not to conduct a feud similar to what you and MP are doing. However, I was under the mistaken impression that you would do likewise. However I see that you continue to "badmouth" me.
ButI have better things to do...............

In stocks, as in everything else, everybody has different opinions. Opinions about CROX are no different.
These are "Opinions" about CROX on two free websites:

Short Term : 80% Buy
Intermediate : 100% Buy
Long Term : 100% Buy

StockTA :
Short Term : Bearish
Intermediate: Neutral
Long Term : Neutral

Another website with stock "opinions " is, but I had used up my free daily quota.

You can't do well when you buy what everyone else is buying".
That statement is only partially true.It depends on your time frame and timing. Your "Oracle" has an infinite time frame and holds stocks for years. Most swing traders have a short time frame,so many buy when there are many buyers and the stock is rising.Of course, nobody wants to be the last buyer.

I see no reason why it has to be RSI(2)<1. It could be RSI(2)< 0.5 or any number less than 1 if you wish to reduce the number of stocks. Also, lowering the number may improve the results.
