IMHO, scalping is VERY VERY dangerous undertake that require years and years of training. TRO said it – indirectly – when he said “you don’t think, you react”. To reach this level of fast reaction you must be very well trained such that it comes to you as a reflex – in reality your brain gets it from the cache. Try to spend more time with swing trading using daily/weekly charts until you master the game then think about scalping next. You have to learn how to walk before you run otherwise you will be giving your money away. My 2 cents.

Good trading everyone.

Apparently, I posted this at the same time you were posting yours. Thanks for the analysis and I wish you best of luck in the position.

When I read the post about GDP, I thought the exact same thing. Except that I don’t see a strong shorting signal either. I believe the stock is going sideways with no strong pattern justifying long or short position. In any event, if you can post your analysis for that call, it would be great.

Thanks

RIGGS

No argument here. Except that I wasn’t asking for indicators and trade secrets. Only general info about the software such as the questions I posted in my thread, do you like it? If you are not restricted by your investment in it, would you replace it with something else? etc.
About propping trade secrets, believe me my friend, I have been around quite a while to learn – the hard way I might add – not to follow anyone’s recommendation if I don’t agree with it myself and can see the opportunity that he/she found in it.

Good trading everyone.

A filter is collection of criteria that must be met in the stocks you are looking for. For example you want to see all stocks that closed Doji, you are not interested in anything else. The best way to figure out how to use it and/or program it is to read the site user guide. There is a link to it on the home page.

John,

Can you tell us a little more about the software you are using. I visited their website but I couldn't figure out if there is a monthly fee for the data feeds? Is it real time? Can you submit orders suing this software or it only for analysis purpose? I know I will probably get these answers if I give them a call but I want to get you feedback as a user of the software instead of talking to a sales man.

John,

In my opinion, you covered AMR too early. It is hard enough to find a legitimate setup – you obviously developed your skills to spot these signals – so what was your reason to cover this early before a reversal starts forming. I am not criticizing, just wondering what was in your mind when you decided to cover this position.

Thanks

What was your stop limit for AMR? Did you avoid today's wipsaw or did it stop you?

It would be great if you post your analysis along with the position so we can all – including you – learn from it and from the feedback we will get.
