How do I make this "1 day ago"?
adding "1 day ago" doesn't seem to do anything.

Thanks for the filters. I will be trying them in the near future. I'll probably go with the Pivot Point one first because I like the "choices" they appear to offer with S1 & S2.

Thanks again.

I'm a Daytrader/Swing Trader who shoots for 1% per day average. I own a couple of stocks down about 8% in the last week to 10 days and they are just hovering there. I have an absolute Financial Stop Loss of 10%. Each stock is rated by Investors Business Daily as "A" or "A+" and in the "Top 100". Analyst Concensus is "Buy." One has just dropped thru the MA(50). Each day I wait costs me money. I know no one is a genius, but, would you share some "rules" for when to dump?

I'm confused. What is this filter designed to achieve? Has it been backtested successfully?

I'm somewhat new to all of this trading stuff and I'm trying to understand whether there seems to be some correlation between what has happened in the overall market ... maybe 15 minutes or so after opening ... and what it does, in general, later on. For example, has it been anyones observation that if the market is down after the first 15 minutes, it is likely to be down after 3 hours? Or, something like this example? All of this is with the understanding that "big news" can reverse the market, whatever direction it is going in.

Anyone ever heard of some "study" of this?

Thanks ... Steve

To TheRumpledOne: Respectfully, why do you limit the market to "market is nasdaq?" What characteristics of the exchanges causes you to limit your filter to nasdaq?

Thank you ... Steve McCormick

One of IBD's "Rules" is:

"Do not buy stocks up over 5% from a sound chart base."

Is there a way of making this into a filter? How does one define a "sound chart base?"
