Hmmm...

I may not know what I am looking at (or doing) yet...but...

I commented out the SYMLIST and got 10775 stocks. Then double clicked on OVERX.

WPO with Long_Profit > .50 looks good.

If I wanted to select the best stocks for this system, is the highest OVERX the column to use?

Thanks,

Rick

I suspect Buy% Sel% on volume can only be extracted from time and sales data, tick by tick and it works because they can compare the transaction price to the bid/ask.

I would imagine SF does not have a Time and Sales feed.

But if it could be done, I am all for it 200%!

TOR,

Very interesting filter.

I notice your code says " HIGH MINUS PREVIOUS CLOSE ".

1) In live trading, how do you know when the high has been reached?

2) A nice gap down could wipe out days of profits. How are you using a stop loss? Are you setting a stop loss in the extended market?

Keep up the great work!

Thanks,
Rick

VXX is the iPath S&P 500 VIX Short-Term Futures ETN.

What is the advantage of using VXX vs. VIX?

Thanks,

Rick

ds2007: can you post the ThinkorSwim Thinkscript code that shows the SPY:VXX signals on your TOS chart?
Thanks, Rick

I would like to know on what past dates one or more indicators gives a signal.

Is this possible to program into Stockfetcher?

For example, what past dates are SPY, IWM both above 90 on RSI(2) on weekly data.

Thanks,
Rick

That is great, thanks.

What I was hoping to do is get an Index on the list so it's RSI(2) values will be listed along with my other stocks.

It would be nice to know when ^VXN, for example, is above 90 or below 10 on RSI(2).

It would be a possible timing indicator.

I agree..we need the indexes to show up. My reason is that I use the values of indicators on these indexes for market timing.

How about a compromise...only include them in the filter if they are specifically named in a Symlist. Just brainstorming.

Thanks,
Rick

Re: Here's a final question: Does a 23" monitor show more columns of SF data vs. a 15.6" screen? More would be better.

If your 23" has the same resolution as your 15.6", then they will be the same. Only the 23" will look bigger. Make sure you can change the resolution on the 23" to get more into the screen. Do that from your control panel.

For example, if your 15" has a resolution of 1280 X720, make sure your new 23" screen has a higher resolution such as 1600 X 900, This will get you more columns.

With the laptop you are getting, you should be fine. If there is any speed issue, it would either be on the Stockfetcher side or a speed issue with your air card. BTW, it does take SF a several seconds to retrieve your stocks no matter what speed your computer is. But I see you figured that.

BTW, with laptops, you can do something pretty neat if you can figure it out...you can run BOTH your laptop screen and the 23" screen at the same time and place different programs or documents on either one. You could have stock graphs in one, stockfetcher in another. Just move your mouse to move the cursor from one screen to the other. This capability should be built into the laptop. This is also controlled thru the control panel. Have fun!
