I REALLY could use a beta scan feature here. If you add it I will sign up for your lifetime membership. :)

I also would like a beta screen, Jim. In your reply, Karen, the formula you worked out distorts with trending stocks. If you want to know the amount of wiggle a stock has (per time period) then you should work off of a moving average, not the price 60 days ago, IMHO.

What I am looking for is simply a measure of average variance from the moving average or some other price baseline. Standard deviation?

Is this a bandwidth issue?

Regards, Spindoc

I agree standoc, deviation from an average price would be the key. Is it possible to add this scan?

I am looking for a way to scan stocks that are at extreems from their 12 day standard deviation.
